IFPI Hong Kong Group represents over 95% of all record producers and licensees in Hong Kong. Following the first established Gold Disc Annual Presentation show in 1977, it later became the current IFPI Hong Kong Top Sales Music Award from the year 2000. This is one award ceremony organised by the industry itself and is the only one in Hong Kong based entirely on annual audited sales, meriting the creators and performers of music under one common standard.

The IFPI Hong Kong Top Sales Music Award is proud to be part of the second year of Entertainment Expo Hong Kong in March 2006. The ceremony will be held at Queen Elizabeth Stadium with thematic performances by the award winners.
